Macmerise ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your phone number when you use our iPhone application ("App") in accordance with applicable Indian laws, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011.

Information We Collect

Phone Number

We collect your mobile phone number exclusively for the following purposes:

  • To send you a One-Time Password (OTP) for account verification
  • To authenticate your identity when you log into the App
  • To ensure the security of your account
  • To comply with regulatory requirements for user verification

How We Use Your Information

Your phone number is used strictly for:

  • Authentication: Sending OTP codes via SMS to verify your identity
  • Security: Protecting your account from unauthorized access
  • Account Recovery: Helping you regain access to your account if needed

Additional Data Access

Camera and Photos

  • We access your device's camera and photo library only when you choose to update your Dopamine Case display
  • Photos are processed locally on your device and transmitted directly to your case via NFC
  • We do not store or upload your photos to our servers

NFC Access

  • We use NFC to communicate with your Dopamine Case for display updates
  • No personal data is stored on the NFC chip

Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your phone number to third parties. We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service Providers: We share your phone number with Twilio, our SMS service provider, solely to deliver OTP messages to you
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by Indian law, court order, or directions from government authorities
  • Protection of Rights: To protect the rights, property, or safety of Macmerise, our users, or others as permitted by law

Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your phone number:

  • Encryption of data in transit using HTTPS/SSL
  • Secure storage of your information with access controls
  • Limited access to personal information only to authorized personnel who need it to operate our services
  • Regular review of our security practices

Data Retention

We retain your phone number only for as long as necessary to provide our services or as required by Indian law. If you delete your account, we will delete your phone number from our active systems within 90 days, except where longer retention is mandated by law or regulatory requirements.

Our App is not intended for children under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect phone numbers or any personal information from minors. If you are under 18, please use this App only with parental consent.

Third-Party Services

We use Twilio as our SMS service provider to send OTP messages. Twilio is bound by their own privacy policy and terms of service, and is only authorized to use your phone number for delivering our OTP messages. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in law or our practices. We will notify you of any material changes by:

  • Posting the updated Privacy Policy in the App
